Tales of a Fairy

Every road she takes leads her to a place far, far from where we were born.

Destiny has a hand in this. The signs are all there: Like her Nana, she is a wanderer with a heart too big for a small world!

So she embarks on her journies to places very different from our own, where people speak in a foreign tongues and the heat is intense, and deserts are the colour of sunshine. She ventures forth, on her own, a young woman taking a course less traveled with a brave heart and an iron will. Taking her out of the bosom of her loving home. Taking her off on a tangent so like my own. A road that will lead to a new chapter.

It was meant to be.

She is our princess, the heart of our band of woman, sisters, nieces, girlfriends; she is the glue that binds us, the thread of gold that runs through our family tapestry.

Our wish for her is always Happiness. To know the pleasure of True Love. She deserves Love of the best kind: The kind of Love that is gentle, but passionate. Love that crosses oceans and desert sands to be with you. Love that comes softly to find you, then overwhelms you with it's intensity. Love that waits patiently for you, but lets you go to find your own voice. Love that is the foundation on which you can built the castle of your dreams.

We are waiting patiently, knowing it will come. There were some could be's with pretty faces and ugly manners, a few knights in dull, dented armour driving shiny horses on black roads with white stripes, a couple of frogs that stayed frogs, slimy and green, despite numerous kisses and small mini drama's providing distractions in the interim. Hesitant loves, with fearful hearts.

But not True Love. We wait, because True Love is worth waiting for, guarding hearts with open minds and fervent prayers...

We walked and we talked for the longest time, just us: 2 generations, 1 family. We walked that day, under grey skies along a stretch of paradise. The future beckoning. "The world is a big place," I said. "Yes, Nana!"

In a month she will be gone. The road will lead her to a place far, far away...

And the world will once again become our home.
