Alex & Gaylin

AlexandGaylin

Alex and Gaylin  chose the delightfully quaint Karoo town, Matjiesfontein

('Fountain of little reeds') as the setting for their wedding.

There was something enchanting about the setting: like taking a step back to a simpler time; to a quieter place where the union of two young people could be celebrated in family & friendship.

The tiny chapel seated 20 of their closest relatives, it was an intimate affair, friends (and photographers congregating in doorways and in the courtyard outside) still sharing in the sermon & the nuptial, voices travelling through open doors, laughter spilling forth

with solemn words...and the marriage sealed with a kiss.

Gaylin danced & twirled in celebration & glee, her beautiful gown billowing around

her; her joy infectious, his love for her obvious and the tone of the day was set

by the couple themselves, unhindered by formalities.

But before there was primming & make up,  bobby pins & curling irons, bridesmaids & mischief. Gaylin was surrounded by her sisters, fussing and teasing,

when the these girls are together, sisterhood makes everything even more special

The Bride  & Groom

Love that requires nothing more of us than to be ourselves, is worth celebrating.

Not the red roses, live-happily-ever-after, cinderella kind of love;

but the very modern fairytale where the guy & girl "gets" each other;

 gets to laugh & cry together on this rollercoaster called life,

standing squarely together in the face of the unromantics & the cynics,

 announcing to the world with every action;

with every tender glance;

with every gentle caress:

We are Love.

To Zarina,

for your laughter that rings true & spreads joy.

  To Simon,

for inspiring such happiness!
