Love letter to my body

Dear Body
We've come a long way you and I; it has been close to 5 decades of Love & Hate. It's not you, it's me, I'm always beating up on you for one reason, or the other.
Yet you've continued to serve me well.
MIND, BODY, SOUL = the whole that is me, often out of balance, and you, like a middle-child, overlooked and in the shadow of MIND, a petulant child, ever demanding, never quiet.
I cannot hear you above the noise of MIND & SPIRIT...Always loud:
FEED ME: Knowledge!
SHOW ME: Understanding!
GIVE ME: More Growth! More Experiences!
You, caught up in the greed, shouting ENOUGH! But I don't listen..
Yet you've continued to serve me well.
I've seen you inside: vital, miraculous; organs functioning quietly, measured, rhythmic despite continued neglect, overworked & under-appreciated.
Yet you've continued to serve me well.
I thought you betrayed me once, robbing me of my womanhood and you were punished for it:
O cruel world,
destroyer of dreams
Hear me call to you:
Give life where emptiness lives
And heal my womb
So life can begin.
Yet you've continued to serve me well.
Uhm...hmmm..Summer is approaching fast & the beach is calling...
You know me, you know what this means?
But I promise this time:
Sun (I will protect you with SPF 60).
Sea (I will not suntan, but swim, arms and legs moving strongly against the currents).
Sand (I will walk for miles along sandy shores).
All this, if you promise me, please, be bather-ready in time, Okay?
