I wander through the world...

I wander through the world seeking beauty...in crescent moons, sparkling oceans, rusted rails, wrinkled faces, lopsided smiles...

I walk, camera in hand, seeing beauty.

And very often, I wander about without looking where I'm going.

Doh!

I lost my footing yesterday and much like Humpty Dumpty, I had a great fall. The thing about a great fall, is that it's filled with so much contradictions.

It happens so quickly: one second you're making your way over rocks, then boom, you're spread-eagled on the ground with added scrapes and bruises. Peculiarly everything turns to slow motion and you can see yourself falling, but can do very little to change the outcome.

Much like LOVE.

Falling in love is filled with contradiction and uncertainty.

I'd rather take a leap than fall. Taking a leap of faith in love seems more sensible than losing your head and falling for someone. Falling is an oops-moment, Leaping, aha! Falling implies accidental, leaping implies a chosen course of action. And choosing what is right for you bodes well for the success of a relationship. Relationships are more about what you need, than what you want, and when falling, it's so easy to confuse the two.

Slightly disorientated and horrified at my graceless tumble, I felt a fit of giggles coming on. Lying next to the train tracks, knees & shoulder scraped, I was holding my camera aloft like a prize.

Vanity set in quickly, I hope nobody saw me tumble.

Of course someone did:

"Are you OK?" he shouted from the rocks below.

I laughed to hide my embarrassment, waved to show I was fine.

"I'd offer to help you," he said, "but I am in worse shape." He raised his arm caste in white in a salute.

We were both casualties it seems.

That is life, that is love:

You fall, you get hurt, but you pick yourself up, and keep on walking till you find the beauty.

EARTH

The life of this world is nothing but a deception

A flickering mirage on the road to our final destination

Every day a rat race where Time is forever fleeting

And Humanity never quite finding, but always seeking.

Seeking something that gives meaning to existence

Seeking our place in the universe, with persistence

Seeking answers to questions that seem simple enough

Finding a degree of solace in the accumulation of stuff.

Silence is a blessing in this noisy world:

Beauty a nugget inside every troubled soul,

And Faith is priceless if you dare to be bold.

Family is the fuel of the Searching Spirit:

Good deeds the currency of the Sacred Soul,

Inner Peace a precious jewel, our ultimate goal.
