Freaky Friday

Ah, Friday...my second favourite day of the week and my second favourite f-word after family.
Friday, you tried my patience today!
"TGIF!"
NOT!
"Thank God it's Friday!"
Not this Friday!
This Friday kicked my ass, tried my patience and had me cursing and frowning.
And the day started out so well, but as soon as my feet hit the ground...BOOM!
Running late, running riot, running errands, running out of steam...running around in red killer heels like it made sense to torture my frenzied feet. Note to self:
Seriously, grabbing the first pair of shoes out of a dark cupboard and committing to it, makes no sense!
Friday was epic in it's craziness, everything that could go wrong, did. The gremlins were having a field day. If I didn't know better, I'd swear today was Friday 13th. Even my computer was in on it, surely it deserved the subtle pounding after what it did to all my shortcuts?
No surprise then that at 4pm I was still stuck at the office (with no one around) wondering WTF?
Feeling slightly dazed, my fingers angry at the keyboard, pounding letters.
Maybe it's all the coffee, 5 cups down and nothing to eat, no surprise then that I'm feeling woozy. I pushed my chair back, sent it spinning, headed off to the bathroom, to breath, to pace, to reboot...
Whoa...I catch myself in the crazy, reign myself in: "It's weekend, baby!"
"Hell, yeah," there's no one around so I do a little dance, untie my hair, kick off my heels and let goldilocks loose.
Starving and on autopilot I headed home, to a full fridge of roast chicken, yellow rice and salad from the momma, poppa & son's supper the previous night, "Yum, It was just right!"
Feeling full and sleepy, I made my way to the lounge and curled up on the couch rather than heading to bed:
"My chocolate lady welcomes me into her warm embrace
I snuggle and wriggle finding her softest place
She swooshes and squeals, cushioning my head,
Her lumpy body providing me with warmth instead."
Feeling uncomfortable on the lumpy couch, I struggle to doze off.
Dragging my feet I headed upstairs, fell out of my heels and onto bed. "Ah, just right!"
And I was gone, Friday fading to black.
The hammering at the door startled me out of my slumber and I ran away before they could catch me out.
